About Us
Fred Sanchez
Broker
Fred Sanchez is the designated broker of Realty Brokers' offices in Oregon, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming. Fred lives on a twenty-five acre farm in Troutdale, Oregon and commutes often to his condo in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the offices in the other states.
Ann Marie, his wife of forty five years, assists him in real estate and all of his other endeavors. They have eleven children (seven boys and four girls), seventeen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren who are the joy of their lives.
Fred was born in Los Angeles, California during the World War II years. Homesick for their birthplaces, his parents, Ted and Josie moved back to Los Chavez, New Mexico when Fred was four years old. While his father grilled the steaks and his mother waited tables at their family-owned restaurant and lounge, the Owl Steak House, their only son practiced the piano and skinny-dipped in the irrigation ditch from the Rio Grande River.
As the winner of local, state and national classical piano competitions, Fred won a scholarship to Chaminade High School in Los Angeles. There he studied with Jose and Amparo Iturbi and Ethel Bartlett Robertson, appearing on the Lawrence Welk show and as a piano concerto soloist with symphony orchestras.
The University of Portland in Oregon offered Fred an enticing scholarship package. During his freshman year he met his wife to be. Ann Marie enrolled during the second semester at U of P and Fred approached her on her first day, dressed in his Air Force ROTC uniform. He earnestly announced that he had been assigned to escort her to all her classes during her first week . . . . and the rest is history.
Fred's first “real” job was as a music teacher at several parochial grade schools. To support his growing family, he worked summers and weekends as a real property tax assessor in Columbia County, St. Helen's, Oregon and then at the Bank of Tokyo as an Operations Manager in Portland.
In 1966, Fred and Ann opened a music, art and dance studio in the Gateway area of Portland. With their young children underfoot, it was only natural that they began to offer preschool and day care programs. They bought their own home and the business location. As soon as they were able to qualify for loans, they began to purchase investment real estate. Early on, Fred recognized the value of real estate and began to take classes in appraisal, real estate law and financing.
In 1977, after selling the day care business, Fred became a real estate agent and later an appraiser. He first sold business opportunities exclusively, and then expanded his expertise to include residential and land sales. When two of his fellow agents approached him with the prospect of forming their own company, Fred enthusiastically agreed. In 1979 they formed SKW Co., named after the three founders Sanchez, Klinger, Welsh. John Welsh and Carl Klinger were terrific mentors and when they retired, Fred bought the company and became President of the family owned corporation.
Fred's always been active in the community. When his children were younger, Fred served with the Scouts, Little League and was a member of the Corbett School Board for many years. Fred now serves on several boards of business and charitable organizations.
Please call Fred at the Oregon office at (503) 256-3910 or the New Mexico office at (505) 242-2160 or anywhere at 1 (800) 999-8909 or on his cellular at (503) 803-3707.
Mark Sanchez
BrokerMark Sanchez is a real estate broker and state licensed appraiser in Oregon.
He was born in Portland, Oregon in 1966, joining an older brother and sister. When he was six years old, the expanding family (three more brothers and a sister), moved to a farm in Troutdale. There he learned to milk a cow and a goat, string up fencing and brush, saddle and ride horses. Lest this all sounds idyllic, it is important to note that Columbia Gorge east winds often blow with gusts of sixty to seventy miles per hour in the winter and chores needed to be done then too.
Mark was an excellent student, but a bit shy at Springdale Primary and Corbett Grade Schools. He then attended Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon where he surprised everyone with good-natured pranks.
When he was a senior, Mark studied for and passed the Oregon Real Estate Exam. As a seventeen year old, though, he had to wait until his April birthday to receive his license.
After graduation, Mark enrolled at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, majoring in Business. Between classes and on weekends, he delved into listing and selling real estate.
Mark married his high school sweetheart, Angela, and together they have five children - two girls and three boys. They live in a home on several acres in Boring, Oregon, living lives that are anything but "boring".
Mark was active in the Oregon Air National Guard for many years, serving as a Staff Sergeant for the 142nd Mission Support Group.
Mark expanded his real estate sales at Realty Brokers to include a thriving business with his own company, Area Appraisals. His vast appraisal experience is an invaluable asset to Realty Brokers in providing customers with accurate and timely market analysis of the value of their real estate and of property they are interested in purchasing.
Please call Mark at the Oregon office at (503) 256-3910 or at Area Appraisals at (503) 663-3325 or on his cellular at (503) 422-3415.
Joseph Sanchez, Esq.
Attorney at Law
Broker
Joseph Sanchez is the designated broker in New York and a real estate broker in Oregon. He is an attorney in Oregon, New York and Maine.
He was born in Portland, Oregon in July of 1967. When he was four, the family moved to their Troutdale farm where he experienced the joy of rounding up cows in fifty mile per hour wind driven sleet and "bucking" bales of hay in 100-degree heat.
No wonder his passion developed for an indoor sport: computers. In grade school Joe and his buddies ("The Three Musketeers") spent hour after hour building, programming and playing games with their Apple II computers.
They communicated via "ancient" modems, and there's a rumor that one or two of them infiltrated the White Sands Missile Range. Of course, all that happened in the "stone age" of computer technology. Joe has stayed abreast of new developments though, and is Realty Brokers resident expert on the internet.
In 1999, Joseph graduated from Notre Dame Law School in South Bend, Indiana. In the summer of 2006, he and his lovely bride Cathy were married in a story-book wedding on Long Island, NY.
As Realty Brokers general counsel, Joseph provides legal advice to the company and its customers.
Tom Sanchez
Broker
Tom Sanchez is a real estate broker in Oregon.
In May of 1969, Tom joined the lively Sanchez family. A quick learner, Tom realized how to negotiate his way in and out of trouble (typical of middle children).
The day Tom received his driver's license at sixteen years of age, he excitedly hopped in the family's brand new crew cab truck and drove to a friend's house to show off. Keeping with the tradition of his older siblings and to the consternation of the Sanchez insurance agents, Tom rounded a curve and applied his brakes quickly on some wet leaves. Tom lost control and spun the truck around, hitting both sides and the front and back against a guard rail, totaling the vehicle. Thankfully, all the Sanchez children survived their teenage years and escaped serious injury. (Note: After Tom, the "training wheels" for the remaining children consisted of old, banged up trucks.)
Tom earned his Masters in Business from Colorado State University and his Bachelors from Oregon Institute of Technology. His leadership skills were honed as a Residence Advisor for his final two years on campus at OIT. Tom was awarded the Spirit Award at OIT upon graduation with a medical imaging degree. He interned at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon and then transferred to Providence Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
When Tom was recruited for a terrific opportunity as director of the Open Advanced MRI clinics in Oregon and Washington, he gratefully accepted. No more "on call" and "late nights". Now he has time on evenings and weekends to use his real estate license with the Sanchez Team. He fills the niche as an expert in the leasing, listing and sales of medical facilities.
Tom is married to dental hygienist and gourmet cook, Angela. They have two children and both are actively involved at their school.
Call Tom at (503) 256-3910 or 1 (800) 999-8909 or on his cellular at (503) 407-4697.
Brad Sanchez
Broker
Brad Sanchez is a real estate broker in Oregon.
Brad Sanchez (affectionately known as ‘bird’) was born in Portland, Oregon in September of 1972. Before he was a year old, his mother, father, and six brothers and sisters moved to their Troutdale, Oregon farm.
Being the middle child, Brad became the consummate conciliator. His negotiation skills were sharpened early on as he learned to make peace between sibling rivals. When an older brother or sister assigned him a chore, Brad developed management skills by telling a younger one to do the job.
As a "hands on" child, Brad held the screwdriver and drill for his grandfather and uncle. To this day, no real estate is "too junky or too mucky" for him. He can visualize the "jewel" in fixer-uppers and has helped his loyal investors make fortunes.
When his Dad became a Realtor, three-year-old Brad got a briefcase too, and has never put it down. With his love of people and his passion for real estate, Brad's enthusiasm is contagious.
Brad takes the advice he dispenses to his customers seriously. He owns several rental houses, apartments and a retail complex. His bride, Rachel, shares Brad's belief in real estate and as a legal secretary, she helps to keep Brad "out of trouble". Brad keeps the Sanchez Team in good physical shape by organizing basketball practices and games with www.RecBasketball.com.
Please call Brad at the Oregon office at (503) 256-3910 or on his cellular at (503) 421-1560.
